The Minutebots
The MinuteBots are a FIRST Robotics team from St. Paul, Central High School. The team first organized in 2013, with a mission mission to help students of all backgrounds grow and develop as young engineers, programmers and businessmen/women. Every year, through a mix of teamwork, expert mentorship, problem-solving, and gracious professionalism, we create a new robot to compete against teams from across the world in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
Our team embodies the entire engineering firm experience. Students have the opportunity to participate with a Programming, Business, or Build team where they will have the opportunity to learn new skills, and put them to the test. On the Programming team you can learn how to use the programming language Java and work through computer science problems. On the Build team experience working with machinery, electronics, pneumatics, as well as design robots using Computer Aided Design (CAD). Or, on the Business team, learn the value of creating business plans as you speak with local businesses, sponsors, and manage the team's funds. No matter what team you join, you will learn from, and work side-by-side, with adult mentors. The MinuteBots host and attend a variety of events, such as the state fair, Regional Competitions (such as in Iowa and 10,000 Lakes), collaborative off-season competitions, events that encourage participation and diversity in STEM, and sometimes world championships! The MinuteBots will continue to grow as a team, being the first Saint Paul Public School team to qualify for a FRC World Championship, we aim to build amazing robots every year! |
